Not much else to say.

I laughed. Sorry, but I did. Maybe it that whole logic and reason thing that I stick so firmly to.

A lot has happened since my last post. So much so, that I don't think it really even makes sense to try and describe it. Instead you get humor in the form of audio. Try getting this out of your head after you listen to it.

Yeah, it has been a while since I've updated this thing. Quite a bit has happened since my last post.

Things that have happened of note:

1) I quit my job at A&F and became a partner in a high end video sales outfit
2) Lori more or less has officially called it quits (more on this later)
3) We got a puppy (RSS picture feed)
4) I added yet another automobile to my repetoire.

I'm gonna glance over all but #2 for now, because as I sit here on a Wednesday night (the birthday of my bride as it so happens), I find that something is most certainly missing right now. Music. For the first time in close to 10 years, I don't have even a makeshift band to call my own and it is driving me crazy. I'm willing to play in a freaking cover band right now I miss it all so much. No matter which way I look, everyone else that has influenced me in the last 10 years musically is doing something with that music but me. Hello Nurse is kicking ass (and rightfully so, if they don't get signed, rock truly is dead), The Sportsman Club is working on a release, and tonight I stumbled across Wake Up, Powerful Magnet!, a project that I didn't even know existed. And dammit, it is good too. As I sit here, I just miss it all. For the last hour and a half I've had the music cranking in my office, and for the most part I've just been closing my eyes and listening to it. I need it. I'm desperate for it. Now I know what coke heads in jail feel like.

Zoner, get your ass down here.
Derek, find your fucking guitar.

I need a new beginning.

Alright, so I haven't posted in quite a while because I've just been so damn busy. Work has been running me ragged and it seems like when I am at home I'm just sleeping and getting ready to go back. But that has nothing to do with the nitty gritty of this entry. No no no. The meat, as it were, is that during my busy work schedule, I flew out to the bay area to hit MacWorld SF '06. While there I spent some time with Kate and she planted an idea in my head. The aforementioned idea is fantastic. Brilliant. And also destined to fail without some of our friends to join in on the fun.

Apparently, for a shade under $1k a person (not including airfare), we can charter a yacht in the Greek islands, learn to sail, swim in the mediterranean. Oh yeah, drinks included.

I figure if we could get 8 people together, we could rent out the entire boat and learn to sail while having a blast. If we get 16 people, we could get two boats to ourselves. My hope would be to go around August of '07...a long time off and plenty of time to save the money (start now!). We should be able to book group travel cheaply enough this far in advance too and save some cash.

I'm serious about this guys, so the sooner we get people committed to going, the better deal we can get on travel and the more time we have to save since we can figure out when/how much we have to pay. Looks pretty rad to me. Whaddya say?

Well, I was bored yesterday and swung into Music Go Round and picked up a new guitar on an impluse buy. Why? Because it was cheap. Too cheap to pass up. Like $72 out the door cheap. And it is a hollow body with three microphonic pickups. It actually sounds and plays damn good and I'm pretty sure it was brand new. I've never heard of the company before that makes it (Brownsville), and it doesn't seem to have a model name on it anywhere, but I've been loving it. It doesn't even do the pickup squeel when you get it close to a loud amp that some other cheap guitars do...it has a nice feedback roar to it.

I'm trying to figure out who all is coming down for New Years Eve, so do me a favor and post up on the board if you are coming. I already made a thread about it. Link to the board is on the right side of my blog.

I haven't taken a true vacation in almost a year now, and burning up all my time in the next few weeks is great. I woke up this morning with about 20 minutes worth of actual stuff to do and the rest of the day to lay around, read, learn stuff, do stuff, play video games....whatever I wanted. It is truly fantastic. I need more vacations.

Since the last time I played with it, I noticed that they have added 3D buildings to Detroit. They haven't done Columbus yet, but maybe soon.

Also, I've found everyone I know's house (including friends that grew up in the desert and texas). This is by far the most educational yet cool waste of time I've ever experienced. It is fun to look at all the places you have heard of and never seen before.

Well, enough for now, I'm going back to play with the world.
